Knowing how much of our employment systems are regulated by a person's credit and legal records, I would have to make sure that whatever would have me out being disobedient is something that I feel like I would regret if I wasnt there.
Cindy
In these scary economic times, no. I won't put my job in jeopardy like that, because the prospect of finding another job is almost impossible these days and my employer would fire me if I was arrested.
Too old for that kind of stuff anyway. Let the kids do it.
rick
been there done that will do it again

Definitely! Non violent civil disobedience is the only way I go. I'm a believer in Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King.
Melissa J. Caron
At first, after reading today's article by MJ Gross I was willing to do almost anything to get things started including getting arrested. Then, after I calmed down and asked my wife if she would be willing to be arrested as a result of nonviolent civil disobedience she reminded me that we would lose our business (insurance agency) if we did. We are required to keep our records clear of criminal acts. So as sad as this sounds I would not be willing to lose my business in order to ACT-UP.
Katie
No, why get a criminal record for something that's not gonna change anything. We need our own version of MLK. We need an organized leader who can make us seen and heard, until then, we'll get no where fast.
Wesley
I think that the community has put aside a lot of the acts of civil disobedience that was common during the 70's and 80's. Prop 8 really re-energized the community to mobilize on topics that affect us. There is a whole new generation of activists and they aren't just gay people any more. There are young straight allies joining the struggle.
